Although we cover big issues and ask some tough questions, we want to create a safe space where you can have a voice to speak, listen, ask questions and share what’s important.

Some Topics We Cover

Identity - Development of the self in society

It is such a basic question, “Who am I?” but sometimes, it can be a difficult question to answer. It is however one of the most important questions we will ever answer! Imagine how powerful it would to emerge from your schooling career knowing exactly who your are, and what you would like to accomplish with your life? It is possible, if you understand who you are. We believe that it is absolutely vital for a person to know and understand their identity, before they go onto do anything in this world! Knowing who they are will allow a young individual to make decisions from a place of being ‘comfortable in their own skin’,  knowing their strengths and weakness.

Self-concept formation and self-motivation

Self-concept is a term we use to describe what we think of ourselves. People who have a positive self-concept respect themselves, take good care of themselves and do not allow others to treat them badly. Our most important relationship is with ourselves – are you taking good care of yourself? Taking care of your health? Being careful about the kinds of friends you hang out with? Are you being kind to yourself? Setting goals for obtaining your dreams? When you think about what you want to achieve in life, this falls under Self Motivation. What motivates you and keeps you going?

We help students navigate real issues such as substance abuse! Whether we’d like to admit it or not, young people are exposed to all kinds of realties around substances – through conversations, social media, or other influences. There is a lot of noise in the world, what we aim to do is assist young people in drowning out the noise and listening to that ‘still small voice’ within. This is the voice that is equipped to deal with these scenarios. We give them the tools to identify and navigate tricky situations which will hopefully lead them to make making wiser decisions. Skills like the Refusal and Decision making Skills – we could all do with learning this if we’re honest, no matter how young or old.
